Sunday walk; Turtle Bay Trail

We learned about these rock piles.  We keep seeing pictures on the road of a rock pile and a name of a town underneath.  Stephen found out it means the beginning of a city.  There used to be rock piles like these marking the ownership of a town or city, but now there are usually just signs on the road.  But here's a real one, and the explanation.

This guy is actually a crab shell.  There were a few around that looked exactly like a live crab, until Jack stepped on them and they cracked into a million pieces. The crabs in this area are black to match the rocks.

Riding on the trail through the trees.

This was a fun trail to go on.  We went right in the middle of the day, so it was super hot.  Park in the Turtle Bay parking lot and follow the signs.  Part of it goes through the Turtle Bay golf course. Jack had some heat exhaustion problems on the way back and had to sit and rest in the shade for awhile.  He soaked his shirt in a pond on the golf course and felt a little better. We decided we need to do hikes in the evening.  It cools off pretty nicely about 6.
